Mixing these up causes problems. A low clearance price is not evidence that the contents were worthless. A hopeful retail price for a table is not what an estate account may need.
What we can help with

What we do not provide

Why records matter
Estates are sometimes asked later what happened to particular items. A simple record — photographs before the job, a list of items held back, and a note of what left the house — is easier to produce on the day than from memory six months later. Solicitors often prefer this even when no formal valuation is required.
If family members are taking items, write that down. If something is going for sale, write that down. Informal arrangements are how disputes start.
When to value a property in Coventry before clearing
Hold the clearance if the house still contains collections, jewellery, artwork, or furniture that nobody has examined, and the solicitor has asked for a valuation. Clearing first can make that work impossible. If the house is mostly ordinary household goods and the family has already removed personal items, a clearance quotation may be all you need.
